STEM support

STEM Support McGill was founded in 2017 by a group of female undergraduate students from the Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science departments.Their goal is to provide support and opportunities for women and members of other marginalized groups in STEM fields.

Scientista

The Scientista Foundation is a national organization that empowers pre-professional women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through content, communities, and conferences.

Outreach
  • Diversity in STEMM: Student-driven initiative at the Redpath Museum to promote diversity in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine. The initiative exists primarily as an online exhibit and a colouring/activity book
     

  • Mini-Science 2018: Women in science at McGill: Educational outreach program designed to offer the public an insider's view of science.
     

  • Broad science: Initiative dedicated to making science inclusive, engaging, and intersectional. It focuses on telling science stories from the voices and perspectives that often get overlooked and go untold, by bringing a critical, social-justice oriented lens to the world of science journalism through podcasting.
     

  • Superwomen in Science is a podcast about the past, present and future of women in science. The podcast is created and hosted by Nicole George, who is currently completing her Master’s in Neuroscience at McGill University, and Cordon Purcell, who is completing her Master’s in Music Therapy at Concordia University.
     

  • Wise: WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) Kid-Netic Energy is a non-profit organization that offers hands on, curriculum based science, engineering and technology deliverables for youth in Kindergarten through grade 12.
